Español: Medalla conmemorativa inglesa de la «toma» de Cartagena de Indias por parte del almirante Eduardo Vernon durante la Guerra del Asiento o de la Oreja de Jenkins . En ella aparece Vernon sosteniendo un bastón de mando mientras señala la ciudad, con la flota inglesa a sus espaldas. La leyenda dice "Admiral Vernon Vhinning the Town of Carthagana" , es decir, «El Almirante Vernon tomando la villa de Cartagena». Tras la abrumadora derrota sufrida por Vernon en Cartagena, las medallas fueron retiradas, aunque se conservaron algunas. Museo Naval de Madrid .
English: English medal commemorating the "taking" of Cartagena de Indias by admiral Edward Vernon during the War of Jenkins' Ear . The medal depicts admiral Vernon holding a command stick and finger pointing the city, with his fleet behind him. The medal says "Admiral Vernon Vhinning the Town of Carthagana". After the crushing defeat suffered by the English fleet in Cartagena, the medals were retired, but some were saved. Naval Museum of Madrid .
